Travel Theme ~ Light

Is it the light of the sun that draws us to the sea?  A persistent pull to an inner magnet of the soul that yearns for a light that dances and teases as it skims across the ocean, warms the walls of architecture, and slowly toasts the skin?  We seek out seaside towns to rest and reflect, to ponder the future and to let go of past heartaches.  The alloted week is never enough but will suffice, for embracing the light renews, we’re given the freedom to relax, to sigh and to breathe, and finally it energizes, preparing us for the return to our nests worlds away.  We are whole again.

    1. Thanks, George. I had such a good time during my brief beach visit, that I’m having trouble letting go! Did you know that our location in Florida was only an 11 hour drive to Victoria, Texas? Don’t be surprised if I show up at your doorstep one day…

      1. Well, Atlanta isn’t that far from me. From Vero Beach, you were further away than eleven hours, weren’t you? Maybe not. At any rate, come on. If I don’t answer the door, just come on around to the back and walk in. I’m here or I’ll be back in a bit. 🙂

  1. Seriously. You have the best eye for stunning photographs. Your pictures always speak right to my heart and make me remember something I can’t quite put my finger on…. They just sort of radiate a feeling of warmth.

Thanks for sharing and have a lovely day. 🙂

  2. You’ve really captured the neighborhood and beach community. I’m really drawn to the picture of the turquoise building. We have nothing like that around here and it really sets the mood.

    1. The architectural design of this beach community is about as good as it gets. Very creative and consistent, with unique touches. I love it there, and agree that turquoise house is beautiful!

      1. Enjoying the weekend. It’s warmed up nicely after our May 1st snow. Hopefully it’ll be the last snow of the season.

Have a good Sunday, and week ahead.

  3. These photos represents so well all the fun, the sun, the beach, of a perfect vacation. When I saw the 4th photo, it reminded me instantly of a trip I made many many years ago at Pompano beach, FL. I miss the beach so much… This photo, the 4th one, is superb. I think I love it so much because it reminds me of the last time I went to the beach. I also really love the last one 🙂
