1. When I was a teeny-tiny little boy we used to have sunflowers in our back yard and I thought they were magical because they were so huge and there was always bees and butterflies around them.

    1. That thought paints a very sweet picture. I used to feel the same way about pansies, and was very hopeful that they would know I was speaking to them and that theyโ€™d answer from their cute little faces.

Thank you so much for your memoryโ€ฆ

I hope you are having a wonderful day, hard to believe it’s tomorrow there if Iโ€™m in Atlanta!!

  2. Thank you kindly for the visit, Elisa!

I came to read your blog and the first thing I see, one of my dearest flowers….. I was actually planning to write about some very special sunflowers next week. Thank you for the inspiration!

  3. I grew sunflowers one at the old house. I hated the things. I dunno why. They were so big and not in the least delicate. I love these, however. Are these a different variety? I’m sure they are. I had the really big ones with colors that were almost harsh. These are small and so pretty. Maybe it’s the lighting or your composition, but I’m having a sunflower conversion experience here! ๐Ÿ™‚ These are really lovely!

    1. I agree, the big sunflowers are almost all center, no petals. This variety is pretty I think…they were calling out to me from their big buckets in the grocery store. Our kitchen gets gloomy in the afternoon, so they are my sun substitute! Their glow in the picture surprised me. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Patricia, you are beyond talented! Your watercolor captures the true essence of the sunny sunflowers. I am thrilled you were inspired by my picture, but the ultimate credit goes to those gorgeous flowers. You are amazing!
